Fort Bend County, TX – Starting March 4, 2024, Fort Bend County residents and visitors will have a new addition to their transportation options with the launch of the new Downtown Commuter Service. This initiative aims to mitigate congestion on the roadways while providing convenient and efficient transit into Downtown Houston.
The Downtown Commuter Service will provide a hassle-free travel experience for commuters from the AMC Theater Park and Ride in Sugar Land to Downtown Houston. The service boasts a new fleet of modern and stylishly designed vehicles, ensuring passengers enjoy a comfortable and safe journey to their destinations.

Fort Bend County Judge KP George stated, “Expanding public transit options to Fort Bend residents isn’t just about building connections; it’s about empowering communities, fostering inclusivity, and driving economic vitality. By investing in our commuter services, we’re not just expanding transportation destinations, we’re building bridges to opportunities, enriching lives, and ensuring a brighter, more accessible future for all.”
Commuters can enjoy a free ride during the initial launch phase from March 4 – 15, 2024. This special offer presents an exciting opportunity for residents and visitors alike to try the new service at no cost and see how easy it is to commute to their place of employment, explore the city, and connect with local businesses.

The Downtown Commuter Service will operate on a convenient schedule, with stops at key locations across the Downtown Houston area, ensuring accessibility for all passengers. The cost is only $4.00 each way and the schedule includes a midday run to offer riders even more options for their travel needs.
